Install Haguichi (Hamachi GUI) in Ubuntu 12.04 & 12.10

This simple tutorial is going to show you how to install Haguichi (GUI for Hamachi) in Ubuntu using webupd8 ppa.

The beta release of LogMeIn Hamachi for Linux is a secure VPN client for the Linux platform, offering connectivity from dispersed environments to your resources. Currently this version has a command line interface only. Haguichi is a graphical frontend for LogMeIn Hamachi on Linux that integrates smoothly into your GNOME desktop.

To get started:

1.) First download LogMeIn Hamachi 2 at this page. Open System Monitor from Unity dash & check 32-bit or 64-bit. You need to register and login to download the package.

Then, hit Ctrl+Alt+T, copy and paste this command in terminal to install the downloaded package:

cd ~/Downloads && sudo dpkg -i logmein-hamachi_*.deb

And use this command to fix the dependencies problem:

sudo apt-get -f install

2.) Now run following 3 commands to install Haguichi from ppa. The PPA also supports Ubuntu 11.10, 11.04, and 10.04.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/haguichi
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install haguichi
