I tried this and got the following error on Mint 15 x64

    utserver -settingspath /opt/utorrent-server-v3_0/
utserver: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Why are all the free versions of Frostwire corrupt or full of adware? I would appreciate any feedback you can give me. I want to try utorrent but I’m a huge fan of Frostwire and want to find a good working version.Thanks.

GetDeb repository contains the packages of Frostwire (version 5.5.5 and 4.21.8), you can install the 4.21.8 version if you do not want the Horrible new version.

To add the repository, download and double-click to install the DEB via ubuntu software center.

Then update and install it via 2 commands in terminal:

      sudo apt-get update

      sudo apt-get install frostwire4
  3. kaiserex says:

    kaiserex@kaiserex-pc:~$ utserver -settingspath /opt/utorrent-server-v3_0/
bash: /usr/sbin/utserver: No such file or directory
But its evident that “utserver” is in /usr/sbin folder. Why using above command Im not able to start utserver?
